Founder & Scientific Lead

Dr. Rohit Koul serves as the Founder and Scientific Lead at DetMedX, where he has been instrumental in shaping the strategic vision of the startup. His extensive expertise in defining use cases and conducting rigorous analyses of technical feasibility, clinical relevance, and market viability has been pivotal to our mission.

With a distinguished academic background that includes an MPH (Gold Medallist) from NCDC, WHO New Delhi, an MD in Urology, and a Fellowship from the European Board of Urology, Dr. Koul is currently advancing his research as a Doctoral candidate in Psychooncology at MHH Hannover. He is actively engaged in a groundbreaking project on liquid biopsies in collaboration with UKI Hamburg, representing the state hospital Wolfsburg.

Dr. Koul's profound understanding of existing healthcare gaps, coupled with his analytical research skills and extensive project implementation experience, empowers him to lead our team with exceptional efficacy. Outside of his professional pursuits, he is an avid cricket enthusiast who enjoys watching matches and delving into the lives of his favourite cricket stars.

Meenakshi Koul

Founder and Project Lead

Meenakshi Koul is the Founder and Project Lead at DetMedX, as the Project Lead, is the domain expert and oversees daily operations, research and development, business growth, and funding strategic planning. Her expertise in preoperative assessments, postoperative recovery, and digital healthcare drives DETMedX’s mission to enhance decision-making for clinicians and improve patient outcomes. Bringing over 18 years of extensive experience in physiotherapy and healthcare management. Holding a master's degree in Physiotherapy (M.P.Th) with a specialization in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Sciences (CVTS) and certifications as a Bobath and Manual Therapist (MT), Meenakshi has a diverse skill set spanning clinical practice, academia, and administration. Her expertise includes cardiac rehabilitation and healthcare operations, which she refined as the Head of Department and Administrator of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department at DMH Pune and as a visiting consultant across significant hospitals in Pune.

Since relocating to Germany over 11 years ago, Meenakshi has gained valuable insights into the German healthcare system. She served as a Senior Therapist at Nanz Medico and ZAR, Wolfsburg, until 2021. In December 2022, she founded her own Physio Yoga Clinic, offering a holistic approach to physiotherapy that integrates her certification as a Yoga Alliance trainer.

Her expertise in physiotherapy and rehabilitation, holistic wellness approach, and international healthcare experience significantly contribute to DetMedX’s vision and expansion. Working closely with other Founders of DetMedX, Meenakshi plays a pivotal role in aligning the company's vision and operations, ensuring that the business strategies are well-executed and poised for success.

Jagdish Iruvuri is the founder and CEO of KRiAN GmbH, our current pre-seed investor and incubator. He received his Bachelor of Technology at Bangalore University, India, and has 22 years of experience as a software engineer and architect.

Rohit Thanki

Technical Lead & Data Scientist

Dr. Rohit Thanki is the Technical Lead & Data Scientist at DetMedX in Wolfsburg, Germany, with over a decade of experience in AI-driven MedTech, focusing on healthcare and retail sectors. He specializes in developing AI-powered solutions for telemedicine, medical diagnostics, and secure data handling, ensuring that these innovations align with industry regulations to guarantee patient safety and regulatory compliance. His expertise spans advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), Computer Vision, Medical Data Analysis, Biometrics, signal processing, and Wireless Communication. His work directly enhances medical imaging, reduces diagnostic errors, and improves healthcare efficiency and patient outcomes.

Previously, Dr. Thanki led R&D at Prognica Labs Tech FZCO, Dubai, where he pioneered an AI-driven diagnostic tool to enhance breast cancer detection accuracy. He was a consultant for Ennoventure Technologies, Bangalore, India, optimizing AI solutions for identifying fake medicine packaging in the pharma industry.

He has a distinguished academic background, including a Ph.D. (Electronics & Communication Engineering) and a Masters in Communication Engineering. In 2024, Stanford University and Elsevier recognized him as one of the top 2% of AI and image processing scientists.

He has authored over 20 technical books from major publishers such as Springer and Elsevier. His publications and academic contributions reflect his leadership in applying AI to healthcare, particularly in medical imaging and cancer diagnostics. Outside of his professional pursuits, he is a big fan of cricket, listening to all-time hits of Indian movie songs.

Sam Fujarski

Research Lead

Sam Fujarski possesses a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Münster, which has equipped her with a robust foundation for her professional endeavors. Her background encompasses data science, academic writing, and the design of scientific studies, making her a multifaceted asset to any research team.

As the research team's leader at DetMedX, she orchestrates all theoretical research activities, including extensive literature reviews and the development of scientific proposals, papers, study protocols, and informative texts.

Furthermore, her responsibilities extend to clinical research, where she manages the planning, organization, and analysis of studies in collaboration with esteemed partners such as Dr. Gödeke at LMU Munich. In addition to her research-focused role, Sam supports funding efforts and marketing initiatives by providing valuable insights and reviewing the outcomes of specific tasks.

Leona Rautenbach

Psychologist

Leona Rautenbach has a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Münster and is experienced in academic writing and study design. Her primary focus is on tasks related to the start-up's establishment, such as investor search and funding acquisition, funding-related document creation, and administrative processes associated with founding the start-up. Furthermore, she supports Sam Fujarski and Dr. Meenakshi Koul by taking on research tasks.

Sanjay Radhakrishnan

Senior Software Engineer

Sanjay Radhakrishnan is a senior software developer at DetMedX and brings over a decade of experience in software architecture and development. With a bachelor's degree in computer science, Sanjay has built a diverse portfolio, developing software across industries such as Sports, Finance, and MedTech. His extensive background in designing and implementing robust software solutions has been instrumental in driving success for complex, high-demand projects.

As a Senior Software Developer, He conducts in-depth technical feasibility analyses to assess the viability of innovative technologies. He collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical requirements. He plays a crucial role in architecting AI-driven solutions tailored to the unique demands of the MedTech industry. His technical expertise spans a wide range of platforms and technologies.

He has extensive experience in developing web, desktop, and cloud-based applications. Outside of work, he is an avid sports enthusiast, often spending his free time playing badminton and following major sporting events.

Shivangi Jodbhavi

AI Lead 

Shivangi Jodbhavi is the AI Lead at DetMedX, where she plays a crucial role in developing innovative AI-driven solutions for healthcare. Her computer vision and deep learning expertise have been instrumental in advancing the company’s mission to enhance patient diagnostics and rehabilitation through advanced technology.

She has a bachelor's degree in computer science engineering and is a certified AI professional. She has over four years of experience creating practical applications in computer vision and is currently focused on integrating high-performance AI models into real-world systems, particularly in motion analysis and medical diagnostics.

She has strong analytical skills, a collaborative approach, and experience in cross-functional teams, which empowers her to tackle complex challenges effectively. Outside of her professional endeavors, she is a passionate vocalist who enjoys playing table tennis and binge-watching shows in her free time.

Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Jan Gödecke, MBA, FEBPS, FACS

Prof. Dr. Jan Gödecke is a leading expert in pediatric surgery and digital healthcare innovation. He is the Managing Senior Physician and Deputy Director of the Pediatric Surgery Department at Dr. von Hauner Children’s Hospital, Munich, and holds a groundbreaking W2 Professorship in Digital Transformation in Pediatric Surgery at LMU Munich, the first of its kind in Germany.

Prof. Gödecke’s career includes a fellowship in pediatric surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and leadership roles at the University Medical Center Mainz, where he founded Germany’s first telemedicine platform for pediatric surgery (MATS) and established its first pediatric robotic surgery center. His expertise spans minimally invasive surgery, telemedicine, robotic-assisted surgery, and the integration of augmented and virtual reality into clinical practice.

Since the inception of DETMedX, Prof. Gödecke has been a key contributor, guiding the technological framework and implementation of the first clinical study, DET_ROME, to validate the DETROM prototype. His insights continue to drive the company’s innovation in AI-powered solutions for orthopedic care. An accomplished author of numerous publications and the book Digital Transformation in Healthcare of Public University Hospitals in Germany, Prof. Gödecke combines clinical excellence with a forward-looking vision for healthcare transformation.
